Keep reinventing

This didn’t work.

That didn’t come off.

There might be something in that.

It’s just not working yet.

It requires some more thought.

Might need to look at that differently.

Continue to innovate.

Adapt.

Keep reinventing.

Yourself.

Your model.

Your offerings.

Products.

Projects.

Keep going.

The landscape has changed.

Then again, it always has.

“For the world has changed and we must change with it.” – Barack Obama

“Your power to choose your direction of your life allows you to reinvent yourself, to change your future, and to powerfully influence the rest of creation.” – Stephen R. Covey

The challenge of rising

Are you rising to the challenge?

Challenges arise every day.

Some small.

Many large.

How are you choosing to tackle them?

By problem solving.

Experimenting.

Making tough decisions.

With curiosity.

Head on.

Slowly, but surely.

By learning.

Thinking it through.

With confidence.

Taking action.

One step at a time.

Persistence.

By testing your own limit …

… and finding it well past where you initially thought it to be.

“Challenges are solved by rising to a level higher than the challenge.” – Deepak Chopra

“Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labor does the body.” – Seneca

Avoiding the first step

What are you avoiding?

Starting the project.

Writing an email.

Making the call.

Having a conversation.

With your friend.

Your boss.

Your partner.

You have made excuses not to.

You have come up with reasons why not.

You may even be afraid to do it.

Yet, you can’t avoid it forever.

Avoidance is reactionary.

So be proactive.

You know what you need to do.

Take the first step.

Then you’re not avoiding anymore.

“When you stop avoiding conflict and difficulty in life, brick-by-brick you are tearing down the wall of fear.” – Brendon Burchard

“The future is only scary if we try to avoid it.” – Simon Sinek

Miss the misunderstandings

Much better to slow down than potentially miss.

Miss the communication.

Ratchet up the mode of interaction.

To miss the misinterpretation.

Move from text to voice.

From voice to virtual.

From online to in person.

From skimming to depth.

From efficient to effective.

From distraction to traction.

Do what it takes to communicate well.

Miss the miscommunication.

Miss the misunderstandings.

Otherwise it’s just … missed.

“Missed it by that much” – Maxwell Smart (Agent 86)

“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” – George Bernard Shaw

Just keep grinding it out

Sometimes you just have to grind it out.

It may not be pleasant.

It might be a slog.

It may be taking much longer than anticipated.

It’s not coming to you like it usually does.

It is laborious.

It is a struggle.

The initial enthusiasm has dissipated.

The enjoyment has gone.

But you can’t stop now.

You must persist.

So keep grinding.

You will feel better once it is done.

“What I lack in talent, I compensate with my willingness to grind it out. That’s the secret of my life.” – Guy Kawasaki

“Adversity can strengthen you if you have the will to grind it out.” – Ray Kroc
