Don’t worry … they’ll tell you!

Plenty of thought went into it.

Preparations were made.

The session was delivered.

So, how did it go?

How was it received?

Did it hit the mark?

You can surmise and assume.

Or you can simply ask.

Be open and be accepting.

Because they are going to tell you.

“We all need people who will give us feedback. That’s how we improve.” – Bill Gates

“Feedback is the breakfast of champions.” – Ken Blanchard

The right communication to connect

There are so many options to connect.

So many platforms and mediums designed to encourage communication.

It is highly unlikely all your connections will prefer the same one.

If communication is what the receiver does.

(Otherwise it’s just talking or telling.)

Then find out how your connections prefer to receive.

“Connection gives purpose and meaning in our lives.” – Brené Brown

“Communication is merely an exchange of information, but connection is an exchange of our humanity.” – Sean Stephenson

What do you need to have under control?

So, it’s a little out of control.

What do you need to do about it?

If it is outside your control, then there is nothing to be done about it.

If it’s okay being out of control for the moment, then maybe nothing needs to be done right now.

If it is something that absolutely needs to be in control, go get after it.

We don’t and can’t control everything.

Pick your target(s).

What do you need to have under control?

By tomorrow?

This time next week?

Next year?

Go get after it.

The odds of doing the right thing

You did the right thing and it turned out badly.

Now what?

Do you stop doing the right thing?

That doesn’t help anyone.

Keep doing the right thing.

The odds are now more in your favour.

“Better to fail at doing the right thing than to succeed at doing the wrong thing.” – Guy Kawasaki

“Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest.” – Mark Twain
