What is the expiry date on …?

There are items that have a clear expiry date.

The food products in your fridge and pantry.

A gift card (either given or received).

The warranty on your … [insert recent purchase here].

That demo software on your computer.

Leases and licences.

Passports and permits.

There are other items that have no set expiry date, but perhaps should.

A failing business model.

Out-dated training.

Working for a terrible boss.

An unhelpful attitude.

Superseded knowledge.

Blaming and criticising.

Negative friendships.

A way of thinking.

What might you be doing that has reached its expiry date?

“There is an expiry date on blaming your parents for steering you in the wrong direction; the moment you are old enough to take the wheel, responsibility lies with you.” – J.K. Rowling

Why do you do it that way?

It is often easy to be the onlooker.

Why do they do it that way?

Why don’t they see it?

Why haven’t they tried something else?

Why can’t they change?

It’s way harder to look inside.

What do you do it that way?

Why don’t you see it?

Why haven’t you tried something else?

Why can’t you change?

“Don’t wait for change. You change.” – Earl Nightingale

“If you don’t like how things are, change it. You are not a tree.” – Jim Rohn

Learn from experience … and pass it on

There are those that have gone before you.

They have forged a path.

There are experiences to impart.

Knowledge to pass on.

Learnings to share.

Wisdom.

So, clarify and query.

Absorb and comprehend.

Listen and understand.

It will save a misstep.

Direct your energy.

Focus your efforts.

Then you get to forge your own path.

And be among those that have gone before others.

With experiences to impart and learnings to share.

“Is there anyone so wise as to learn by the experience of others?” – Voltaire

“Nothing speaks like results. If you want to build the kind of credibility that connects with people, then deliver results before you deliver a message. Get out and do what you advise others to do. Communicate from experience.” – John C. Maxwell, author of “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: Follow Them and People Will Follow You” (among many, many other books).

Where do you want to grow?

There is more to learn.

There will always be more to learn.

More to know.

More to understand.

Be it a new skill.

The latest research.

Continual building of knowledge.

Or building completely new knowledge.

What interests you?

What would you like to know?

What is the right challenge for right now?

Now, more than ever, there is someone ready to teach.

There is mode of learning that is right for you.

There are sources everywhere.

Where do you want to grow?

“When you stop learning you stop growing.” – Ken Blanchard

“Every activity worth doing has a learning curve.” – Seth Godin
